Starting on his dining room table as a passion project back in 2012, Johnny Freeman of Johnny Fly Co has made his sunglass company a household name in Charlotte. With a previous career in the Motorsports world, the recession hit and let's just say funding for a motorsports career isn’t something you can continue pursuing with the change you find in the depths of your couch. Fast forward to today, and he has expanded into two locations, with their most well-known store located next to the Neighborhood Theatre in NoDa as well as one up on Lake Norman. For those who love to shop small and attend various events in the city, you’ll definitely see a Johnny Fly booth. With their NoDa Location you’re greeted with the well lit shelves full of different sunglass options, you’re able to really feel the quality as well use of their various mirrors to see which fit your style. Johnny Fly is the perfect example of how less is more.

30 Business in 30 Days: Inner Peaks

For the month of March, I have set out on a goal to shoot at least 1 business a day for the next 30 days. Whether it’s a restaurant, gym, boutique, if it is brick and mortar, I wlll shoot the space!

Day 18 :Inner Peaks

Website: https://innerpeaks.com/

Instagram: @/nnerpeaks

You know that saying, "curiosity killed the cat"? Well, curiosity did play a big part in discovering Inner Peaks.

You would never suspect there to be an indoor rock climbing facility right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of South End. After talking to the owner, Paige, she showed me what it took and how far they've come since 2015, as well as expanding in the Greater Charlotte area.

If you're up for trying something new or wanting to hone in on your rock climbing skills, then you definitely need to come to Inner Peaks.

30 Businesses in 30 Days: Leah & Louise

For the month of March, I have set out on a goal to shoot at least 1 business a day for the next 30 days. Whether it’s a restaurant, gym, boutique, if it is brick and mortar, I wlll shoot the space!

Day 18 :Leah and Louise

If you are familiar with the area, then when I say Camp Northend, you know it's a key landmark that has so much to offer, from art studios, galleries, and much more. If you like eclectic food with tons of flavor, then look no further than Leah & Louise. Inspired by the Bayou South, it pays homage to the Mississippi River Ways, getting its flavors from cities like Memphis, Jackson, and New Orleans. The quaint space has a more intimate setting than the fast-paced vibe that other places on this list offer. This is the spot for a relaxed evening, a good craft cocktail, and good conversation.

30 Businesses in 30 Days: Legion Brewing

For the month of March, I have set out on a goal to shoot at least 1 business a day for the next 30 days. Whether it’s a restaurant, gym, boutique, if it is brick and mortar, I wlll shoot the space!

Day 17 :Legion Brewing

Website: www.legionbrewing.com

Instagram: @legionbrewing

Well yes, it’s easy to see that Charlotte has a lot to offer, and one thing that is definitely abundant is breweries. It seems like there is an announcement of a new brewery opening up in the city every week.

While that may be the case, I’m the type of person who prefers to go to places that have been around for a while. The reason is that those places know what’s up. One of those places is Legion. It’s not necessarily that I go there for the beer, but in my personal opinion, the reason why I go is for the food.

This particular location was the first to open back in 2015. Since then, there have been tons of beer poured, and countless days of a full bar, and with that, they have since expanded to 2 other locations in the city. Legion Is one of the places where you find me from time to time.

Airbnb Photography Dos and Don'ts: Common Mistakes to Avoid and Best Practices to Follow

Airbnb Photography Dos and Don'ts: Common Mistakes to Avoid and Best Practices to Follow

When it comes to showcasing your Airbnb property, photography is one of the most important elements of your listing. Great photos can grab the attention of potential guests and entice them to book your space. However, poor photography can have the opposite effect and turn potential guests away.

To help you create the best possible photos for your Airbnb listing, we’ve compiled a list of dos and don'ts to keep in mind.

Do: Hire a Professional Photographer

One of the best investments you can make in your Airbnb business is hiring a professional photographer. Professional photographers have the experience and equipment necessary to capture the best possible shots of your property. They can help you showcase your space in the best light and make it stand out from the competition.

Don't: Use Low-Quality Photos

Using low-quality photos is a surefire way to turn off potential guests. Photos that are too dark, too blurry, or too pixelated can make your space look unappealing and unprofessional. Make sure your photos are high-quality and well-lit.

Do: Focus on Key Features

When taking photos of your Airbnb, focus on the key features that set your space apart from others. Whether it’s a stunning view, a cozy reading nook, or a beautiful kitchen, make sure these features are prominently featured in your photos.

Don't: Over-Edit Your Photos

While it’s important to edit your photos to enhance their quality, it’s also important not to overdo it. Photos that are overly edited can look fake and unappealing. Stick to basic edits like color correction and cropping.

Do: Use Natural Light

Natural light is the best type of light for photography. It’s flattering, bright, and can make your space look more inviting. Try to take your photos during the day when natural light is at its best.

Don't: Use Flash

Flash can make your photos look harsh and uninviting. Instead of using flash, try to use natural light as much as possible.

Do: Stage Your Space

Staging your space can help potential guests visualize themselves staying there. Make sure your space is clean, tidy, and free of clutter. Use props like fresh flowers, books, or a bowl of fruit to add interest to your photos

Don't: Use Stock Photos

Using stock photos is a big no-no in the Airbnb world. Potential guests want to see photos of your actual space, not generic photos that could be from anywhere. Make sure all of the photos in your listing are of your actual space.

Do: Take a Variety of Photos

Taking a variety of photos can help potential guests get a better sense of your space. Take photos from different angles, different rooms, and different times of day to show off all aspects of your space.

Don't: Forget the Details

The details can make all the difference when it comes to Airbnb photography. Make sure to capture details like the art on the walls, the books on the shelves, and the unique features of your space. These details can help your space stand out and make it more memorable for potential guests.

In conclusion, great photography is essential to the success of your Airbnb listing. By following these dos and don'ts, you can create photos that are both inviting and professional, and help your space stand out from the competition.

Their product speaks for itself, and no detail is overlooked. The guys over at Prism Supply Co are known for their insane vintage motorcycles. Starting in Charlotte, their passion keeps things American-made, and quality is shown throughout every bike they touch. If you ever get a chance to wander around Camp North End, definitely take the time to talk to the guys and watch them do their thing. In a time where it seems like quality isn’t valued as much as it used to be, it's a breath of fresh air to see people so passionate and dedicated to their mission.

For the month of March, I have set out on a goal to shoot at least 1 business a day for the next 30 days. Whether it’s a restaurant, gym, boutique, if it is brick and mortar, I wlll shoot the space!

Day 15 : Super Abari Game Bar

Many of our favorite pastimes include riding bikes with friends, playing outside until the streetlights came on, and if we were really convincing, going to the local arcade to play our favorite games. Now it seems as though those places no longer exist, or you have to come across them by accident. Well, let this be that accident. Abari is a well-known arcade bar that was off North Davidson Street for YEARS, but now, has moved up the street to the Belmont neighborhood and is now called Super Abari. With over 90 games ranging from countless pinball machines to classics like Tetris, Donkey Kong, and Pac Man, it's easy to get lost and forget all your responsibilities and be a kid again.

5 things to consider when hiring an Airbnb photographer

Spring is here, which means travel is on the rise and more and more people are looking for places to stay - places like yours. You've invested so much time, energy, and effort into your short-term rental, and now it's time to find a photographer to capture all your hard work the right way. Here are 5 things to consider when hiring an Airbnb photographer.

Experience

Look for a photographer who has experience in shooting similar properties. Take a look at their portfolio to ensure their style aligns with your needs.

Style

Different photographers have different styles, so it's important to find one whose style matches your preferences and the type of property you have. For example, if your property has a rustic charm, you may want to find a photographer who has experience in shooting rustic or vintage properties.

Availability

Make sure the photographer is available when you need them. You don't want to disrupt your guests' experience by scheduling a shoot at the wrong time.

Cost

Cost is important, but don't stress too much about it. Discuss the price upfront and make sure you're comfortable with what's included in the package. Additionally, you should be able to recoup your expense in 2 -3 night stay.

Reviews and references

Reviews and references are a great way to gauge the photographer's reliability and professionalism. Check out their reviews and ask for references from previous clients.

Putt Putt, mini golf, PGA Tour training facility, or whatever you want to call it, is something that at one point in time we've all done as kids. That nervous first date or family reunion can be tied to it.

Stroke Putt is a half bar, half PGA Tour training facility right in Plaza Midwood that serves drinks and a competitive edge. Not only can you play a round of mini golf, but during the week, there are plenty of entertainment options to choose from!

They are a relatively new store in NoDa that fits the neighborhood so well. Normally in a retail space it tends to go for a minimalist look but here there are so many things that draw your attention. From the different cards that you see when you walk in to the different elements that make up the boutique. Another thing you’ll notice is how friendly and welcoming Kirstin is, after chatting with her, I noticed how passionate she is about running the business and its many different nuances that goes into it.
